Endorphin's power

Comments

[this is good]
I know, those endorphins are wonderful, a very natural happiness. Glad you're enjoying the exercise. I look forward to summer because the heat makes me eat so much lighter, and my jeans fit so much better. Your gaining might have been due in part to your moving here in the winter. Hot foods always make me gain.

If by "correcting", you mean your English, your English has been great. How is it now for you to speak it?

About my english... thank you !! My translator is still very helpful ;-) Speak is always a challenge for me, not natural at all. I guess I'm not enough confident and hang ups (?) about the accent, so hard to learn. Writing here is a good exercise, I must confess, you're wright ;)

With Yann we are trying to speak in english sometimes at home, but it's so strange ! And Rosana suggested to read a text together, so she can't correct my accent in english, and me hers in french. Clever.

Thank you so much for your support !
I heard a couple who came into the bookstore the other night. (I got out of the house all alone!) They were speaking what sounded, to me, something like Czech. But he turned and asked me, "Is someone sitting here?" I shook my head, and he went back to Czech with his girlfriend. I felt jealous! Learning another language, even several languages, has been on my mind for some time. But without complete emersion, the effort is all will power. Especially when the languages I was originally interested in were Gaelic and Welsh. Who learns Gaelic and Welsh at 32? I admire you two for the adventure you've started!
Spanish is not so bad neither ;)

I still listening at french tv with the web, I talk to my french friends and family, a lot of things are translated in french for canadians... the emersion is not complete for me ! But so much better than learning it at school...

Is there a particular reason why you are interested in Gaelic & Welsh ? That's not usual ! Maybe you already told me... sorry if you did.
I may have mentioned wanting to live in Ireland. More recently, I've also become interested in Britain in general. I'm of Irish/English decent. I first heard Irish Gaelic music, about 15 years ago. I made some effort to learn Scottish Gaelic, because that's all I could find at the bookstore, but beyond the alphabet and pronunciation, well, there was no one else in Austin, Texas that I knew to speak it with :D I like the look of Welsh, and I find the pronunciations interesting, nothing like what I would think! So I guess the interest comes from ancestry as well as some exposure. I've also been exposed to a little Yiddish (in a book), and I generally find myself drawn to lesser known languages. Not very practical, I know.

I have learned a little French from my widget translator. If I read a sentence before I copy/paste, I can get more meaning than I could 2 months ago. Brad and I did start Michel Thomas's French together. He is further than I am, but living in such a Latin populated area, I knew Spanish would be the best place to start. Being asked directions by new Hispanics with no English, I'm useless to them. I really like Thomas's style, and I woke up the next day remembering well the French he'd taught me. But I think once I'm dreaming in another language, then I've arrived!

Did you say in a comment elsewhere that you speak Spanish?

By the way, those are great goals!

Endorphins..... mmmmmmmmmmm

:)

Oui princesse, sans aucun doute, tu les connais bien ;)

Question du soir : peut-on devenir addicted aux endorphines avec le sport ?
I didn't know the Michel Thomas's method... or How learning english (or another language) in a short time : 8 hours for the basic ! He was a polish linguist, and did he actually speak 11 languages ?! A strong and complex personality apparently... Maybe you'll be able to understand me without a translator ;)

I speak spanish a little bit... I've been to Spain two times, but it's not enough ! You can check my friend's site, she's living in Spain and she's fluent in english and spanish now...

I would like to share some britain songs that I like with you... I'll do that soon !

Ho my god, a new addiction for you, that is not reasonable...but this one is a good one.
